In this session we will examine how the SQL Server engine processes queries, allowing us to dive deep into wait events. SQL Server Wait Statistics are one of the most important and common performance tuning metrics that can be used to track and troubleshoot query performance by identifying resource bottlenecks the query is waiting for such as IO, CPU, memory, network, etc.
We will discover what causes wait events, review common wait events, as well as ways to remedy issues using wait time response analysis.
