Everyone working with SQL Server for a while is aware of the most popular maintenance items. These include consistency checks, backups, and index maintenance. But what about the other, less common, maintenance tasks? Far too many DBAs do not regularly perform these tasks.
This session will suggest a series of maintenance items that are much less popular, but still important. Some of these tasks include scanning for suspect pages, auditing the sysadmin list, reviewing SSRS activity, and inspecting certificates. These actions do not need to be completed daily but may make sense to complete on a regular schedule. How many of them are on your checklists?
