The flexibility of hybrid options with Azure SQL Managed Instance

Microsoft sponsored on-demand webinar

Webcast Abstract

There are many reasons why you might want to consider a hybrid approach for your applications and databases. A hybrid cloud can provide more flexibility and control with higher availability. This would mean using on-premises SQL Server, virtual machines in the cloud, and more modern platform-as-a-service solutions such as Azure SQL Managed Instance – a fully managed SQL Server instance in Azure, optimized with Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors.

In this webinar, we will focus on how Azure SQL Managed Instance can support your hybrid architecture. You will learn how to leverage the link feature for Azure SQL Managed Instance to:

  • Use Azure services without migrating
  • Build a disaster recovery site in Azure
  • Offload read-only workloads to Azure
  • Migrate SQL Server to Azure with minimum downtime and at your convenience

You will also learn how you can use well known SQL Server functionalities such as Transactional Replication and DTC for distributed transactions across multiple SQL Server instances and Azure SQL Managed Instances. Finally, you will learn about the benefits of running Azure Arc-enabled SQL Managed Instance, accelerated by Intel technologies.
